               Known to be steadfast in its cultural advocacies, University of Santo Tomas has been leading academic institution dedicated to the appreciation and protection of the Bikol identity.

               As manifested in its institutional vision, mission, and objectives, UST-Legazpi commits itself to take the lead in promoting what is Bikol and what the Bikolano academics can do, through the establishment of the Bikol Studies Center.

                The Bikol Studies Center has been conceptualized as part of UST-Legazpi’s thrust in the promotion, propagation, and preservation of the Bikol Culture and Heritage.

Inspired by the Baybayin Script, the overall appearance of the logo resembles the character “bi”

The bottom element depicting Mayon Volcano signifies the seat of activities of the Bikol Studies Center, such as its home – the City of Legazpi with the province of Albay and its neighboring areas.

The three divisions stand for the Center’s cause for the promotion, propagation, and preservation of the Bikol Culture and Heritage.

The chili-shaped clouds represent the six provinces of Bikol with the image of a cross paying tribute to the region’s pronounced Catholic traditions.

The shades red and green embody the colors of the sili, amplifying the Bikolano individuality.

The tip symbolizes the light that illuminates the path for the future of the Bikol Culture, Heritage, and identity.
