UST-LEGAZPI’S STAGE NAMED ONE OF THE OUTSTANDING CLUBS FOR UNESCO 2025

Out of more than 250 accredited Clubs for UNESCO in 2025, the UST-Legazpi Sama-samang Tinig ng mga Aktor na Gumagalaw sa Entablado (STAGE) has been recognized by the National Coordinating Body of Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines (NCBCUP) as one of the Outstanding Clubs for UNESCO 2025 under the College Level – Culture Category. This recognition honors the organization’s unwavering commitment, passion, and excellence in promoting culture and the arts.

The NCBCUP Awards Committee annually recognizes accredited clubs that demonstrate outstanding achievements in the fields of culture, science, information and communication, social and human sciences, and education.

In its message to the awardees, the NCBCUP commended their dedication, stating:

“Your passion for preserving heritage, promoting creativity, and celebrating diversity keeps the vibrant spirit of our culture alive. Through your initiatives, you’ve shown how culture unites and empowers communities across generations.”

The awarding ceremony will take place during the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO 2025, to be held on November 21–23, 2025, at the Forest Crest Nature Hotel and Resort, Nasugbu, Batangas.

After a rigorous four-level screening process, UST-Legazpi’s STAGE achieved a significant milestone as it became an officially accredited member of the NCBCUP in 2024 and was re-accredited in 2025.

The National Coordinating Body of Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines (NCBCUP) promotes peace-building and cultural exchange through education, science, social sciences, technology, and communication. Its mission includes empowering communities through grassroots initiatives and advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Clubs for UNESCO are global grassroots movements aligned with UNESCO’s mission to foster understanding, cultural appreciation, and peace-building. These independent, non-profit organizations uphold UNESCO’s principles through programs and community-based projects. In the Philippines, these clubs are supervised by the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) under the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

This national recognition strengthens STAGE’s dedication to advancing cultural and creative education through the performing arts, echoing UNESCO’s vision of building peace, understanding, and sustainable development through culture.
