UST-Legazpi’s Preschool and Elementary Department (PSE) positively presented itself to the accreditors from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) for a two-day Formal Survey held virtually from August 31 – September 1, 2022.
Dr. Amelia Ronquillo, Team Chairperson, and the rest of the accreditors from PAASCU praised UST-Legazpi PSE Department for its efforts to provide quality education as in-person learning returns.
PAASCU commended the university’s faculty and staff for showing a positive attitude towards work and the willingness to adapt to the changes in the rapidly changing educational landscape. The University Administrators were also lauded for their cooperation and participation in taking action on the challenges brought by the pandemic to teaching and learning. Also worth noting is UST-Legazpi’s curriculum which includes science and computer subjects that equip learners in the said fields.
The accreditors did not also miss to acknowledge the recent award given by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to UST-Legazpi as one of the leading implementors of the COVID-19 Vaccination Program in the country through the remarkable efforts of the University Clinic under the Office of Student Services (OSS).
In terms of facilities, the university was also admired for providing well-maintained facilities and high-level security to keep Legazpi Thomasians in a conducive, safe, and peaceful learning environment.
Meanwhile, as of this writing, the said initial reports are not conclusive of the final decision on the accreditation status of the PSE Department. Results will be sent to the University once reports are consolidated and approved by the PAASCU Board.
All these efforts are being carried out to make the UST-Legazpi Preschool and Elementary Department the top school of choice for young learners in the region.
