UST-LEGAZPI INTRODUCES ISO 21001:2018 EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EOMS) STANDARD

In a significant stride towards enhancing its educational quality and competitive advantage, the University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi has introduced the ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) Standard to the Legazpi Thomasian Community. The initiative aims to strengthen the university’s commitment to providing quality education through an internationally recognized standard.

On June 26, 2024, administrators, supervisors, program chairs, and internal quality auditors gathered at the Daragang Magayon Hall (DMH) for an orientation and workshop. Spearheaded by the Office of Planning and Development, the event sought to equip the attendees with the necessary tools and knowledge to implement the ISO 21001:2018 standard effectively.

This new standard aligns with UST-Legazpi’s ongoing efforts to maintain and elevate its management systems.

Recently, the university successfully retained its ISO 9001:2015 certification for its Quality Management System. The Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) facilitated the 2024 Surveillance Audit early this year. The audit yielded impressive results as SGS proudly declared that UST-Legazpi “has demonstrated the ability of the management system to systematically achieve requirements of the audit standard.”

The introduction of the ISO 21001:2018 standard represents yet another milestone in UST-Legazpi’s journey towards educational excellence. This new standard will help the university to better meet the needs of its students and stakeholders, ensuring a high-quality educational experience.

With the continuous pursuit of such prestigious certifications, UST-Legazpi solidifies its position as a premier institution dedicated to excellence in education, striving to serve the Legazpi Thomasians with the highest standards.
