A total of two hundred-two families from barangays in Albay received assistance from UST-Legazpi through its Center for Community Involvement (CCI) and its program “TASATU: Tabang Sa Tugang – Albay Mayon Operation 2023”. UST-Legazpi aimed at reaching out to the displaced families affected by the ongoing Mayon eruption.
The said outreach program that happened last July 22, 2023, was in cooperation with the Social Action Center – Legazpi and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Daraga.
The recipients were residents of barangay Matnog who evacuated at Gabawan Elementary School in the Municipality of Daraga, Albay.
Through the leading efforts of CCI, the hundreds of disrupted families were given packed vegetables (including eggs and condiments) and hygiene kits (bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste).
CCI also conducted psychosocial activities through games with educational supplies serving as rewards.
