The University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi beams with pride as another Legazpi Thomasian, Stephany Mae S. Chi landed 6th place in the March 2023 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination, adding new feat to the university’s roll of victories.
Chi, a 2022 Cum Laude graduate of the MedTech program of the College of Health Sciences (CHS), garnered a passing rate of 91.40% and is one of the 4,714 passers among the 6,165 examinees this year.
CHS’ Dean Athena G. Masip, RN, MAN, and UST-Legazpi’s Medical Technology Program Chair Asst. Prof. Ma. Victoria Tuazon, RMT, extends their heartfelt congratulations to the university’s new Medical Technologists.
Tuazon, still in high spirits, cannot control her tears of joy upon knowing the high mark the university has achieved for this licensure examination. “To my dear students, I wish you all luck in your future endeavors,” she said.
Dean Masip recalled how these new set of Legazpi Thomasian passers overcame the struggles they faced in spite of the hurdles brought by the COVID-19 Pandemic. “And with your patience and dedication, you have brought out the best in you. The College of Health Sciences Family is overwhelmed and grateful,” the college head said.
“You make us all proud. Job well done and good luck on your next journey.”
Meanwhile, on the 13th of April 2023, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Legazpi City conducted a Special Session wherein City Councilor Joseph Philip L. Lee proposed “Resolution No. 16-0119-2023: A Resolution Commending and Congratulating Ms. Stephany Mae S. Chi of University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi for obtaining a passing rate of 91.40% and placing Top 6 in the March 2023 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination” and was unanimously approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Legazpi.
