The University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi is one with the country in celebrating the National Arts Month headed by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) with the theme: “Ani ng Sining, Bunga ng Galing.”
The said festivity is positioned to celebrate artistic excellence and pay tribute to the uniqueness and diversity of the Filipino heritage and culture.
At UST-Legazpi, a week-long celebration is all set, headed by the High School Department’s Special Program in the Arts (SPA) with the sub theme: “Alay ng Sining: Buelta Velada” (come back). This is to encourage young Legazpi Thomasians to immerse themselves into the fascinating world of arts and use its mediums for self-expression and growth.
As a kick-off activity, students from the Junior High School (JHS) Department dressed up as characters from well known literary pieces at the Book Character Parade and Presentation.
The same cluster of Legazpi Thomasians will battle out with all their might to produce masterpieces through brush strokes at the Mural Painting Competition on February 14; showcase dance moves on February 15 for the Mass Demo Competition; and on the last day, show off belting powers at the Voice Battle.
The Awarding Ceremonies shall follow on February 17.
