With the hopes of producing mighty journalists in the future, the Preschool and Elementary (PSE) Department of UST-Legazpi and its Young Writers Club conducted the 7th Writing Workshop with the theme: “Empowering Student Journalists towards Social Transformation” on May 16, 2023 at the PSE laboratory attended by pupils from Grades three to six.
Ms. Jessa May C. Triñanes from the Senior High School Department took the speaking floor first for her lecture on news writing together with Ms. Caroline Grace O. Montas for feature writing.
In the afternoon, Ms. Jean Pauline Pocaan taught the students tips and techniques for creating an editorial write-up, followed by Mr. Wyslly S. Ala on Photojournalism.
This activity will help the PSE Department in determining their new editorial board for their school paper.
