Before the S.Y. 2023 – 2024 opens, the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) led a three-day academic seminar-workshop for the Legazpi Thomasian Teaching Force entitled “PAGTAIS” last July 24-26, 2023 with the theme “Innovative Approaches to Education: Nurturing Critical Minds, Fostering Values, and Embracing Educational Technology.”
PAGTAIS came from the Bikol root word “tais” that means to sharpen, to hone, to whet, to file, or to grind.
The said seminar-workshop was divided into three parts to assist the teaching force of UST-Legazpi in delivering academic services to our valued Legazpi Thomasians.
The first day was scheduled for Google Workspace Training with Mr. Michael Yu and Jospeh Bamba as resource speakers. This is to guide UST-Legazpi’s Teaching Personnel in sharing knowledge to the Legazpi Thomasians within a fast-paced educational and technological landscape.
Meanwhile, the second day centered on sharpening teaching skills with Mr. Simonet Barrosa discussing tips on “Enhancing Teacher’s Instructional Skills.”
The last day, on the other hand, was a chance for the 2023-2024 teaching force to get more accustomed with the university’s offices and processes through orientations on the services delivered by support offices.
The discussion of services was delivered by the current administrators of the following offices: Office of Student Services (OSS), Office of the University Registrar (OUR), Office of Guidance and Testing (OGT), University Library and Information and Information Services (ULIS), Office of Planning and Development (OPD), Office of the University Controller (OUC), and Human Resource Management Office (HRMO).
UST-Legazpi is set to open its doors to welcome the new school year on August 9, 2023.
