UST-Legazpi’s Center for Community Involvement (CCI), in charge of the university’s extension programs, went back again to its adopted community, Purok 6B of Brgy. Rawis, Legazpi City to conduct another outreach activity together with the university’s National Service Training Program (NSTP) students last April 1, 2023.
The program entitled “Brigada Pagbasa” is an after-school reading program in response to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) PROJECT “Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa.” This serves as a platform to combine education-related endeavors that can immediately address literacy and numbering learning gaps.
In the said venture, UST-Legazpi partnered with Rawis Elementary School to help its 20 learners, who are residents of the said adopted community. The activity’s goal is to instill in the learners the importance of reading as a key to literacy and to incorporate the love of reading in their daily life.
