On its way to realizing the institution’s goal of becoming a reputable leader in Communication and Liberal Arts, Teacher Education, and Business Management among others, the University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi subjects six of its twenty-three programs to a resurvey by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) this February 2023.
PAASCU is responsible for accrediting learning institutions to meet accepted standards of quality education, services, and operations.
The six programs subject to the resurvey are BA in Philosophy, BA in Political Science, BA in Communication, Bachelor of Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Secondary Education, from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE), and; Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Business Management and Accountancy (CBMA), which currently sit on a Level II Accredited Status.
Meanwhile, accreditors this year are set to visit UST-Legazpi through a blended approach. Six accreditors will conduct the resurvey virtually while two others will perform in-person interviews at UST-Legazpi. Classroom observations are scheduled on February 13 to 16 while interviews will take place on February 16 and 17.
