To showcase the contribution of the university to its different stakeholders, partner community, alumni, faculty, and students, UST-Legazpi’s College of Business Management and Accountancy puts up this year’s St. John Macias Trade Fair as part of the 2023 University Week.

Held at the Senior High School Grounds on February 2, 2023, thirteen booths were installed showcasing different products ranging from food, apparel, and cosmetics.

In her opening remarks, CBMA Dean Celeste T. Yanzon, LLB, DBA expressed her amazement as to how her students, alumni, and even faculty members can put their learnings into action obeyond the four courners of the classroom.

“The products and business endeavors they have is an example of how these students should live their life after graduation”, Dean Celeste said.

Dr. Yanzon also encouraged her faculty that they need to be learners first before being effective teachers. She added that alumni should convert their learnings gained from their four years of stay in the university into actual practice. Moereover, she cheered students to showcase their learned skills in promotion, advertising, selling, and creation of products.

Meanwhile, one of the highlights of the said fair was the booth of the Center for Community Involvement (CCI) and its adopted community from Purok 6B of Brgy. Rawis, Legazpi City. They sold tote bags that were sewn and manually produced by the members of the community. Looking back, this adopted community was given livelihood training programs by CCI through its CBMA students enrolled in its NSTP Program.
